I woke up in my underwear, slight headache, and sounds of laughter from my living room. Dexter and Justin were in town and we had a long night out of bar hopping. Mike was texting me unusually often that night telling me to "make sure I drink water" and "don't drink too much." Didn't think much of it! I came out and there was Gale and Dexter. Mike came out of the bedroom too, and although I didn't know at the time, he was worried that they were going to hang out with us all day. Eventually they left and Mike was already nudging me to get ready so we could have what we call "M&M adventure day."
"No, my head hurts. I need to take a nap for a little." Barrier!
I ended up sleeping for an hour and woke up feeling much better. Mike kept telling me he wanted to go up to this treehouse in Tantalus that we go to sometimes just to hang out. Normally, I'm usually down for whatever but that day I was fixated on eating and going swimming!
"No, I'm hungry. Let's eat."
"Okay, we can eat and then go to the treehouse and play music," says Mike.
"No, I don't want to go the treehouse. I wanna swim." Barrier!
So, we ate at Yummy's in Koko Marina. It was a hot and beautiful day! Next on the agenda was to swim!! So we head towards the east side to find a place to swim. Along the drive home, he kept pulling over to random secluded beaches along the way asking if I wanted to swim there.
"No, I don't wanna go to these beaches. Let's go Bellows!" Barrier!
So, we get to Bellow's and it's the most crowded ever! I told Mike if he ever proposed to me, that I wanted it to be just us two. So Mike tries to find the least crowded area, and ends up parking my Lexus on the side of a road.
We get to the beach and spend the day there. It was so awesome--the weather was great, the water refreshing! I thought nothing of this day because we go to the beach and do this all the time. Except, this day he brought his guitar and he never does that! So, he went to the car to get his guitar and finds a parking ticket on my car. Barrier!
"Are you mad?" He must have asked me ten times, lol. I kept saying no, I was too relaxed.
So, he starts to play all these songs on his guitar including "All of Me- John Legend", "Rude-Magik", and lastly "Marry Me--Bruno Mars." Yet, the whole time I have my head turned away watching a bridal party taking pictures on the beach. LOL, barrier!!
"Can you pay attention to me?" he asked, haha!!
Ooops! So I guess he couldn't propose that way. It was getting late, the sun was going to go down soon, and I was getting cold. I told Mike that I wanted to go. I was looking off in the distance, sitting in my beach chair, when I turned to my right and see Mike down on one knee and small red box in hand.
The thoughts in my head consisted of "OMG! WTF! AHHHH! WHAAT?! how? Reeeeally? Is this really happening?!" Obviously, last thing I ever expected to happen that day! He asked me to marry him, and of course I said "YES!"

We hugged a lot! Decided to celebrate by grabbing a six pack of blue moon (the moon was out during that day too) and sat in the back of my car at Sandy's.
It was perfect. It was so 'us.' It was in true Michael Cummings fashion, because he WOULD have all those barriers in trying to propose to me, haha! And as for my ring, I love it too!! I love it because he picked it himself (we never went ring shopping), and he did a good job! It's a round cut, classic solitaire, on a platinum band...and I still trip out when I look at my hand and see it on my finger, haha!!
So, I'm 29 and feel weird saying the word "fiance'" ..but I have one! I also feel weird that "I'm engaged" AHHH!!! But I have to get used to it, lol.
